OS X Lion running up the mountain towards the iCloud

Submitted by Erik Schut on 20 February 2012

Last week Apple announced Mountain Lion, the next version of OS X (formerly known as Mac OS X) that will be released this summer. Apple introduces Mountain Lion with: "it’s designed with innovations from iPad and it works even better with iCloud." I find the latter an understatement, this release is all about making OS X a real member of the iCloud family joining iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple TV. iBooks Author is about transforming the educational market

Submitted by Hans Janssen on 20 January 2012

Although not a complete surprise, Apple launched an impressive application at their New York event on January 21st: iBooks Author.

Together with iBooks 2, the update of iTunes U, the immediately availability of free (US) textbooks and the fact that iBooks and iBooks Author are free of charge, clearly shows Apple's ambitions regarding the educational market.

It was not a complete surprise since it was specifically mentioned in Jobs' biography: "In fact Jobs had his sights set on textbooks as the next business he wanted to transform. He believed it was a $8 billion a year industry ripe for digital destruction."

You can imagine that we at WoodWing were specifically interested in iBooks Author as the creation tool. read more >>

New multi-channel magazine is launched, called 360

Submitted by Hans Janssen on 27 November 2011

Last Wednesday a new magazine was launched in the Netherlands, called 360.

360 chooses the best news-articles from a selection of international magazines and newspapers and translates it for its readers. It's based on the French success of Courrier.

360 is a multi-channel product. Print (bi-weekly), web and tablet. All channels containing the content most suited for their medium.

The editors of 360 selected WoodWing Enterprise as their multi-channel publishing system. PubliQare has been the Solution Partner implementing this new title. More details about this project are to follow soon.

We are looking forward to the success of 360. The courage, the vision and the energy put into this adventure deserves great respect. We're proud having another multi-channel publisher being part of the WoodWing community. Welcome 360 read more >>
